We apologize for the long silence. We made it to France no problem, but we’ve been struggling with establishing an internet connection. The French internet sim card we bought doesn’t work (although we try to resolve the issues in every big town we ride through), and whenever we find wifi, we need to use it for route planning and other necessary tasks.
In true Team Lumaca fashion, we are moving very slowly, around 25 km per day as we try to hit our stride. We are currently north of Beauvais, headed towards Amiens. We will try to sort out our internet again there, and we hope to have some real blog posts for you soon.
Thanks, Giulia, for the update. We plan to visit Beauvais and the enormous Gothic cathedral there….also, don’t miss Amiens enormous Gothic cathedral, one of the largest I believe during that period of European history. Enjoy!
It’s so good to hear that you made it! Everyone has been wondering. Keep us all posted as you can. Sending you affectionate greetings from all.
Sorry to hear of your connection problems. Hope you get it sorted out soon. Glad to hear that your adventure is underway. Take care and smooth cycling.
Yoohoo, you’re on your way!! How is the camping going? Il culo?? In bocca al lupo!!!!!!!!! We are rooting for you all the way!!!!
Abbracci,
Bente and Carlo.
Don’t worry about posting on the blog. What’s important is to enjoy the adventure and be well!
Whew—thanks for the up-date. I was beginning to worry that you were stuck in an airport in Nepal or something. I hope your butt is feeling fine, Julie, and I think 25km is just fine for now. Ride safely and have fun!! Hope you are enjoying some crème brulee 🙂
LOL. Well, we have been known to travel around the world to arrive at our final destination, so Nepal might not have been so far-fetched. Luckily, we can save the “scenic route” for our bicycle travels.
Thanks for letting us know that you are OK. We were worried that you didn’t make the flights you needed. Looking forward to hearing more when you get connected.
Bonjour! I hope you are enjoying great scenery and culture, and even better French pastries! Have a good ride today 😀.
